What is the minimum playing standard to play NCAA division 2 college tennis + LTA rating?
NCAA division II is an open field and some teams are not very deep in talent. Most coaches prefer a tennis resume which may include tournaments you’ve played, high school records, academy’s you may have attended and current residence you play at. I always recommend my players tape a practice session of themselves and send it to the coaches of each team so they can give the coach an idea of what they have to work with. Most teams will give you the opportunity to try out, work out with the team, or just play a challenge match. Even if you don’t make the traveling team, some coaches will allow you to either red shirt (meaning play as an alternate) or practice with the team for a year and let you try out the next year. Remember that NCAA rules state that once you play for a team, you are allowed 5 years to complete 4 years of elligibility.
