What is the minimum endowment that I need to deposit in order to start a PIF?
Panama law #25 of 1995, Article 5, section 2 requires that a minimum of $10,000.00 in assets be transferred into the ownership of the PIF. The donation can be either by public document or private document, so neither the identity nor the value of the property needs to be exposed to public view. The endowment can be a house, a car, a deposit to the PIF’s bank account, IRA, portfolios, objects of art, or any other thing of value.
