The minimum amount required to buy a parcel of shares on the ASX is $500, which is also the minimum amount required to open a Cash Account. You must retain a minimum cash balance of $100 in your account. You should also retain enough funds to place orders (including paying fees and brokerage), cover transfer fees, and ACH collateral lodgement.
