What is the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council?
The Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council is a group of Michigan citizens whose mission is “to support people with developmental disabilities to achieve life dreams”. It does this through promoting and supporting advocacy, and through grants to groups in Michigan that are helping to achieve this mission in various ways. Developmental Disabilities Councils in each state are authorized by a federal law, the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000.
