What is the Messianic position on Creationism?
Surveying todays Messianic movement, it is fair to say that the vast majority of Messianic Believers adhere to some kind of Young Earth Creationism. They believe that Planet Earth (and perhaps the whole universe) is approximately 6,000-7,000 years old, and was created in six literal 24-hour days. They believe that science supports these beliefs, and that the genealogies in Genesis chs. 5 and 11 can be used to calculate the age of the Earth. Frequently when the readings Bereisheet and Noach are examined at the beginning of the Torah cycle, theological critiques of Young Earth Creationism are often not considered. In evangelical Christianity, however, not all adhere to Young Earth Creationism.
