What is The Merck Manual of Geriatrics?
The third edition of The Merck Manual of Geriatrics was published in the Fall of 2000. This new edition has been redesigned and features a unique interdisciplinary approach that specifically addresses the challenges facing geriatric care. It includes information on nursing care, pharmacy issues, discussions of the best drugs for the elderly, and new or extensively revised chapters on dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, rehabilitation, respiratory failure, and managed care. Although this book was written mostly for doctors and nurses, it may be useful to many other healthcare professionals and to some elderly persons and their families seeking information about their medical conditions.
