What is the Mental Health and Recovery Levy?
The local 0.6 mill Mental Health and Recovery Levy, first passed in 1973, is a five year levy that supports publicly funded mental health and recovery services in Darke, Miami and Shelby Counties. The levy ensures the availability of mental health and recovery services to all residents of the tri-county area. The levy also provides matching funds needed to obtain additional federal and state funds for our local system. Without the necessary matching funds, our local system would lose the additional federal and state dollars that are so vital to our system.
