What is the Mediasite Lecture Capture System?

0

The College of Business at Louisiana Tech University has purchased a lecture capture system called Mediasite from Sonic Foundry. Mediasite will automatically or manually capture, manage, and publish class lectures while simultaneously integrating with existing teaching technologies such as PowerPoint, chalk boards, or document cameras. Mediasite allows you to record a lecture along with whatever is displayed on the computer screen, thus providing your students with a powerful tool for review, to further supplement material covered in class, or to provide instruction that is entirely web-based. Students are able to fast-forward, rewind, or skip to particular segments. The lectures can be viewed through an Internet browser, through iTunes, or downloaded to an MP3 player. In addition to the video file, a podcast of the presentation is available from a predefined RSS feed that viewers can subscribe to through iTunes.
