This song is completely, totally, without a doubt talking about her personal need for a Savior. Not just another human, because humans fail us. None of us are perfect. Therefore, this Savior must be MORE than just a mere human. What this song is referring to is the need of every human that has ever lived to be saved by God. We are sinners. We all have rebelled against the God that created us, by living our own way and rejecting him. (Romans 3:23) This is known as the bondage of sin, the chains that the artist refers to in the song. However, God loves each and every one of us, and desires to save us, to have a relationship with us and give us eternal life. He does this through the person of Jesus Christ, the true Son of God. Jesus came and lived on this earth 2,000 years ago. His story is told in the Holy Scriptures, the Bible.
