What is the meaning of vital nuts and bolts of trade?
Nuts and bolts as a pair hold things together. Thus vital nuts and bolts of trade would mean those things that are essential for trade. (Here I take it that trade means business of trade, not a single transaction of buying and selling.) Some of the essentials of trade would obviously be: materials, stocks, finance, accounting, staff, storage space, marketing, profit calculation (pricing), etc.
