What is the meaning of this Bible Verse?
Matthew 24:28 Jesus was talking about false Christs misleading even the chosen ones just before that verse. But, like farsighted eagles, these chosen ones will gather to where the true spiritual food is to be found, namely, with the true Christ at his invisible presence. They will not be misled and be gathered together to a false Christ.
In this verse Jesus is telling his followers something that modern Christians should be be looking much deeper into. He basically said that if you are told that the “messiah” is “over here” or “over there”, and you are looking for and expecting a single person to fill that roll that you are mistaken. Interestingly, he notes that where there is a carcass (a crucified man?) there will be buzzards (those who eat of his flesh and drink of his blood?) and his attitude is that this is mistaken. Rather he says that this “coming” will be like lightening across the sky, an energy that electrifies the earth and is absorbed by all that it reaches – an awakening or enlightenment that many believe to be the transition between the Piscean age and the Aquarian age (see Mark 14:13 and Luke 22:10 – the symbol of Aquarius is the man carrying the pitcher of water, the age of enlightenment).
