According to Dictionary.com, omnidirectional means sending or receiving signals in all directions. There are several platforms in which omnidirectional systems are being used, or engineers are developing systems to gain new applications for the technology. Omnidirectional technology allows for arbitrary movement, radiation or capturing of signals in any direction. Omnidirectional systems can be seen in microphones, antennas, cameras and developing technologies, including wheel and virtual treadmill applications.
