Yes, it’s true what XmasQueen stated partaining to where it originated. But she failed to enlightnen you with the positive meaning behind it. A “true” holiday or not, (and if you know the history of christmas you would know it is also from folklore that was passed down through generations and become tradition), the fact of the matter is, is that it is a reverence of values and being familarized with African heritage( which if you know African history you would know that is where most of the symbols and seven principles of Kwanza are based on. I’m not sure if it ocurred to XmasQueen that just maybe some Africans whom she may have read about or actually spoken with do not know their history as well?) as well as assessing or re-assessing one’s self in order to be a better person to others and being thankful for your blessings and family, which in my opionion could be carried over for the whole year long.
