What is the meaning of hard and soft grinding wheel?
The terms hard and soft used to define grinding wheel do not refer to the indentation hardness of the abrasive layer of the grinding wheel. A wheel referred as ‘hard’ normally means that the bond is abrasion resistant, a ‘soft’ wheel by contrast has a bond which is less abrasion resistant and therefore tends to grind with lower forces.
