What is the meaning of carbon monoxide?
In normal combustion and natural processes involving oxygen, the usual product is carbon dioxide ( CO2 ). However, when combustion is done under pressure and compression, there is a lack of time and ability for the oxygen to bond with carbon properly. The result is carbon monoxide ( CO ). This is a highly toxic gas that destroys the red blood cell’s ability to carry oxygen. Once a corpuscle has been bonded to a CO molecule, it cannot absorb or release oxygen again, ever. That red blood cell will circulate until it dies, doing nothing but cluttering up the bloodstream with a uselessly bonded molecule. The gas is colorless and odorless, which increases the danger.
