What is the meaning behind the design elements and colors of the BTA logo?
The logo represents the BTA mission to transform operations and achieve warfighter support while enabling financial accountability across the Department of Defense. The silver circle frames the logo to depict a continuous commitment to transform, and represents the lifecycle of business systems and processes. The embossed silver American eagle depicts power and energy. The eagle holds a streamer inscribed with “Agilitas Et Ratio,” which means “Agility and Accountability”- reflecting the words of the Secretary of Defense to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Silver represents coinage and gallantry, Blue for vigilance and perseverance, White for loyalty, and Red for valor. The flowing red and white stripes represent our heritage and the agility and flexibility necessary to lead change. The shield represents protection for the warfighter. In one talon is an olive branch, representing accountability in peacetime business systems and processes; in the other, a bundle of thirteen arrow
