What is the MDA Fly Out?
Across the country in mid-August, teams of MDA community members will meet with local Members of Congress to share information about MDA’s services and supports being provided/funded in the Members’ backyard, and to highlight the sponsors, medical facilities, and local heroes who make all of this possible. These meetings will also provide us with an opportunity to increase the Members’ awareness of neuromuscular disease and specific legislative issues that are of key importance to the various members of the MDA community. Who participates in the Fly Out? All members of the MDA community are encouraged to participate including local families served by MDA, MDA staff, MDA clinic team members, sponsors, and MDA-funded researchers. How does it work? MDA’s Advocacy Office will set up the meetings and prepare all of the necessary materials to take to the meeting.
