What is the MCLE Scholarship Endowment?
It is MCLE’s initiative to help lawyers who may not have the means to pursue CLE training opportunities — including those just starting out in their careers, and those who have dedicated their careers to representing clients who cannot pay. MCLE’s Scholarship Endowment consists of two components: (1) the general scholarship fund and (2) named scholarship funds. Both fund legal services, pro bono and needs-based scholarships to MCLE programs. The named scholarship funds honor lawyers and judges whose lives and work exemplify the best of Massachusetts’ rich legal heritage. MCLE currently is in the midst of a Campaign to raise $2.5 million to establish an endowment that funds 1,000 scholarships every year. Donations to MCLE’s scholarship endowment are tax deductible.
