We believe that the mayor should hold DPS accountable for improving its performance and be given the authority to get that done. We believe making the mayor accountable for DPS will provide the leadership and stability that has been missing. We know what doesn’t work: when authority is divided between the superintendent and school board and when the state takes control. It’s time for a third way.
