The Models 64, 86, and 86 A/A have adjustable heads allowing 6″ in-between the platform and the typeholder. The Model 55 has about 1″ in-between the platform and typeholder. Most items are not a concern for the maximum thickness. A great example is a thick book – you can open the cover page and place it between the typeholder and platform to press the foil into place.
