Good Question!! This is dependant on the operating system that you are using for a mail host. • The NT OS allows you to set this limit via the web based mail administration. Here is the Knowledge Base article for IMail (NT) http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19990816-DM03.htm • The Linux OS is set on the disk space size, by the administrator.
