What is the maximum performance of the FWSM?
Raw performance is 5.467Gbps in terms of bandwidth (1500-bytes of payload per packet) or2.4Mpps (64-byte frames), whichever comes first. These are absolute best case figures that are not very realistic, but that’s how all vendors market their gear and we’re no different. A more realistic number is between 3.2 and 4.1Gbps with a regular frame size distribution and average number of flows. The number of connections per second can be as high as 104K. The number of concurrent connections is 999,900 or262,144 if you are using NAT and run out of translation entries.
