Daisy chaining of Drobo devices that have FireWire connectors works successfully. The maximum number of Drobo storage devices that can be daisy chained may vary with configuration details. Six Drobos have been daisy chained together (to an iMac running Leopard) and tested successfully. The length of the FireWire cable used between devices was 6 feet. We recommend daisy chaining only 4-5 FireWire devices, including Drobo storage devices. If you choose to go beyond these numbers, performance will likely be impacted.
