Once the maximum characters of 30,000 or 3,000 is reached the following message, as appropriate, will pop up in blue: 30,000 maximum characters allowed: on the eAppraisal form, Competency comment sections, Supervisor Comments, Employee Comments and Job Description comments. 3,000 maximum characters allowed: on the eAppraisal form, Past Goals and New Goals sections, and Development Plan sections. In the Performance Journal the maximum allowable characters is 3,000 per item.
