What is the maximum length of time I can stay in Tibet as an individual traveller?
The maximum length of your stay is determined by the lenghth of your Visa. Whilst it is normally possible to extend your visa twice for 15 days each time, this cannot be relied upon. Visa extensions are issued purely at the discretion of the local PSB Aliens Exit and Entry Division, so they may issue extensions in Shigatse, but not in Lhasa for example. In the past Visas could be extended twice for 30 days each time, but this is no longer the case.
