What is the Maximum distance that the webcam can be from the main unit?
The Axis webcam does not hook directly to the Hoffman Smart unit. It hooks into a port on your switch or hub. The IP address of the camera is programmed into the unit. The camera could be in another state as long as it has a Public IP address for the Hoffman Smart unit to communicate with the camera. The camera uses CAT5 cable to connect to your switch which will generally allow for cable lengths up to 500 feet.
