What is the maximum cargo load that can be loaded or discharged at PSB jetty?
A. PSB jetty is designed with a deck loading of 3 tons per square metre, which meets the load requirement of the standard highway bridge. PSB has 2 X 45-ton cranes at its jetty. A crane or cranes of higher lifting capacity can be hired by prior arrangement. The maximum capacity allowed on the jetty is 2 x 120 tons truck mounted cranes for combined lift. No crawler type crane is permitted on the jetty. Maximum load permitted for a single load is 50 tons. Any load above the 50 tons limit must be made in writing in advance to PSB for consideration. All equipment, vehicles with single or combined loads in excess of the permissible load of 90 tons are strictly prohibited from entry to PSB Jetty. Vessel owners or agents and all other users are required to request permission from PSB for one-time access to the jetty for equipment, vehicles or loads in excess of the 90 tons limit.
