What is the max file size you can send in an email?

Size you can upload in an e-mail depends on your Internet Service Provider. They set the limit. For example, AOL allows 16MB, which I have found to be quite large. However, the ISP used at my job allows only 2 MB. Also, when sending an attachment, you must consider the size limit of the person receiving the file. If it is over their limit for receiving, the e-mail will be rejected and you will receive a mailer demon. I have found AOL has no size limit on receiving a file.

Most services wont let you send large files. Gmail allows 20MB per email. Windows Hotmail is 10MB, not sure about yahoo but I would imagine it’s around 10 to 20 mb. IF you want to share a large file with your friends, consider setting up a private ftp site. If you have a pc and an internet connection and winxp, you can set one up for free.

They are all different, but I know lots of people that have a yahoo account just for sending large files, so I know Yahoo! email has a large limit. I know Gmail has a 20MB limit. Hotmail (Windows Live Mail) has a limit of 10MB.
