What is the Master of Arts with Certification (MAC) Program?
The Master of Arts with Certifcation programs are intensive graduate-level teacher certification programs at either the elementary or secondary level, resulting in a master of arts degree and recommendation for Michigan teaching certification. The programs begin in late June of each year and ends the following July. To learn whether you are qualified to enter a master of arts with certification program, you must complete either an application for an elementary or secondary coursework evaluation and submit it, along with one official transcript from all academic institutions attended (including community colleges), to the Office of Student Affairs. Although the application requirements include the completed application, GRE scores, three letters of recommendation, and a statement of purpose, the most critical element that determines admission to the program is the coursework evaluation, by which we assess the completion of coursework for the teaching major and minor.
