What is the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge?

0

The Challenge is a weekend-long event in which the general public is invited to visit the land-accessible lighthouses of Maryland. The Challenge Lights include Turkey Point, Concord Point, Seven Foot Knoll, the Chesapeake Lightship, Hooper Strait, Cove Point, Drum Point, Point Lookout, Piney Point and Fort Washington. They will all be open for access, and climbing wherever possible. You can visit one, two, or more of the lighthouses, and receive a complimentary event souvenir at each location. The real Challenge, however, is to visit all the lighthouses along the Challenge route. Do so, and you will receive a special souvenir to mark your accomplishment! The 2006 event souvenirs will be commemorative then and now postcards.
