The MDOT Fellows Internsip Program is designed to recruit and introduce Maryland’s best and brightest college students to the challenging and rewarding work within the Maryland Department of Transportation. Students are placed with senior-level managers who act as mentors by working with the students on a day to day basis, exposing them to the their position responsibilites and the functions of their work unit. Students are required to work in teams to develop a policy paper that targets an issue that the Maryland Department of Transportation is facing. Students also attend seminars that include tours of MDOT facilities. The internship is a primary career and business networking opportunity for the students.
