What is the Maritime Security Programme (MSP)?
In the UK , implementation of the IMO requirements will form part of a Maritime Security Programme (MSP) that will bring together the IMO requirements and the UK ‘s existing maritime security regime to provide a comprehensive protective security regime for UK ships and ports. Although TRANSEC has overall responsibility for the programme, TRANSEC will deal primarily with port security and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) will deal primarily with ship security.
