What is the make up of the NHS Telford and Wrekin Board?
NHS Boards are made up of a mixture of Executive Directors who are paid employees of the PCT and Non-Executive Directors, who are volunteers recruited by the Appointments Commission from the general public to serve on Boards which manage NHS organisations. Of the current 16 members of the Board, 9 are officer members (including 6 Executive Directors and 3 clinical representatives; GP, allied health professional and a nurse) and 7 are non-officer members (Non-Executive Directors) who are appointed by the Appointments Commission. Non-Executive members of the Board, although volunteers receive a nominal annual sum of £7882 p.a. to reimburse them for their time commitment which should be a minimum of 2.5 days per month. However, the Chair of the Board receives a sum of £34,152 p.a. for a commitment of 3 days per week, whilst the Chair of the Audit Committee receives a sum of £13,136 p.a. for a minimum of 2.5 days per month to reflect the additional responsibility of these roles.
