What is the major difference between high school and college for a student with a disability?
The major difference is that college students must self-disclose the disability and request specific accommodations. The student with a disability is the key player in this process! Students with disabilities must learn about available support services/accommodations and also learn the process to request/receive these services. The development of self-advocacy skills is critical for students with disabilities.
