What Is The Main Problem Of North Korean Men And Women Who Settle In South Korea?
Of the 10000 or so immigrants who have come to South Korea in the aftermath of the Korean war in 1950-53, a vast majority of them have only arrived in the past few years. Generally it happens that most of the North Koreans feel totally out of place in the South, feeling it to be an alien culture, where it will be difficult to adapt. Nevertheless they continue to live and mostly end up in poverty, with occasional gripes of discrimination and social bigotry. Of the women who form a whooping eighty percent of the immigrants who have moved to South Korea, the main problem that they face after coming to the South is a successful search for a husband, who is a genuine guy and not just someone who is interested exclusively in her resettlement allowances and not her. As for the men, their most crucial move after moving and settling in South Korea is the issue of getting a stable job. According to them, the job will relieve them of all the problems that they are currently enduring.
