What is the main difference in power quality between the US and foreign markets?
The US utility market suffers from a wide range of power quality problems. Studies by the government and industry agencies indicate that over 80% of the power quality problems in the US result from short-term outages or voltage sags. Many of the industrialized foreign nations experience similar problems, but a greater proportion of them suffer from voltage sags. Rapidly expanding industrial markets in areas such as most of Africa and parts of Asia are experiencing a much wider range of power quality problems.
