What is the main difference between the two creation stories found in the book of genesis?
The truth is it that there is only one creation story, or you could break it into three different creations. In the beginning He created the heaven and the earth, Ps 102:25 . Then you have the account of the 7 day creation. If you read the start of the second chapter of Genesis, you will see that God looked (after the seven day creation) and saw that there was no man to till the earth. I see that there was no man to till the earth and that is when He created Adam. This isn’t going to get you a good grade for your homework, but it is a totally different take on the creation story. There are many differences. They took place at different times and over a period of time, 2 Peter chapter 3 speaks of these times and of the ages, that is the way they go together in chronology, you can see there are differences, and that is because they are different creations, if you try to fit them together they make no sense, this is what is taught as truth. for your report you could say it seems they are
