There are many ‘name brand’ applications avbailable for Linux including Nero, Firefox, Openoffice, etc. Linux is MUCH more resistant to malware and viruses than Windows. Its also more resistant to hacking. Lunix gives you a choice of well developed desktops – unlike windows, in which you can change the shell but the replacements are nowhere near as sophisticated as the original.
