Sunset of the Sabertooth is the 7th book in the continuing adventures of 8 year old Jack and his 7 year old sister Annie. By pointing to a picture in book in the magic tree house they found in the woods near their home, the children are able to visit any time or place they want. In this book, they are going back to the time of Cro-Magnon and the Ice Age. Our Experience Of the seven books we have read, Sunset of the Sabertooth is by far the best and really what I had expected the series to be. All of the books take place in some far away time or place and these books seem like a great way to get children interested in something beyond their own small worlds. Unfortunately more often than not the Osborne fails to develop the setting and draw the reader into another world. In Sunset of the Sabertooth the characters and the reader are fully immersed in the Ice Age. Five was fascinated by what I was reading to her.
