What is the M.A.Ed. for Working Professionals Program (WPP)?
The WPP is an innovative two-year program that enables working educators to receive a Master of Arts degree specializing in Jewish Education without giving up their daytime jobs. Made possible by the support of Janine and Peter Lowy, the WPP is designed to enable full-time Jewish educators to expand their knowledge of educational theory and practice, upgrade their pedagogical skills, and deepen their involvement with Jewish texts and ideas. Attending classes in the evening, on occasional Sunday afternoons, and during two intensive five-week summer semesters, students are able to work out a balance between the demands of work and the requirements of a graduate level program. In recognition of their work in Jewish Studies over the course of the two years, students receive upon graduation a Bachelor of Literature degree in Hebrew Letters (B.Lit.) in addition to their M.A.Ed.
