What is the M.A. program in Applied Social Research and Policy Analysis (MASR)?
The M.A. program in Applied Social Research and Policy Analysis (MASR) consists of three components: the core curriculum, policy concentrations and a research internship. It is designed to teach social research skills and create proficiency in data collection and analysis. Students who complete the degree may go on to employment with research organizations, government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, community service groups, social service organizations and criminal justice agencies. The MASR program combines applied internship experiences with broad academic course offerings involving faculty from the Departments of Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Labor Studies and Economics/Geography.
