I am not sure if this has been beaten but Rob Peterson and long-time friend and fellow pro Ray Miller of Lodi, Calif., completed 15,674 consecutive shots over the net to break the longest rally in tennis mark. The pair broke the 1997 record of 15,464 hits held in the Guinness Book of World Records by Will Duggan and Ron Kapp of Tallahassee, Fla. Peterson said the 9 hour, 45 minute event was tiring, but that throughout the marathon, he was confident that they would succeed. “I have played a lot of tennis with this guy so we knew where the shots were going to land.” In addition to playing together frequently, the two have also broken another world record. “At the Worldwide Senior Tennis Tournament in Irving, Texas, Ray and I set the record for the longest rally with two tennis balls in play,” Peterson said.
