What is the London International Development Centre?
The London International Development Centre (LIDC) is a collaborative project which brings together social and natural scientists from across the University of London’s six Bloomsbury Colleges (Birkbeck, Institute of Education, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Royal Veterinary College, School of Oriental and African Studies, and The School of Pharmacy). It undertakes original interdisciplinary research and training to tackle complex problems in international development. The DL4D (Distance Learning For Development) project is just one strand of activity undertaken by LIDC and its partner institutions. This project is exploring ways in which current Bloomsbury-wide activities in distance learning can be used to better address the needs of those living and working in an international development context.
