What is the Local Number Portability (LNP) Charge appearing on my bill?

0

Pursuant to FCC rules, GTA will assess a LNP End User Charge that you will see in the coming May billing statement. This charge reflects the cost associated with implementing local number portability amortized over a five-year recovery period. Since the beginning of this year, GTA Telecom LLC, at the request of Pulse Mobile LLC dba MPULSE and other wireless service providers on Guam, has upgraded its infrastructure to support the ability of wireless consumers to retain their current phone numbers even when they switch to another wireless carrier. The ability of wireless customers to change their wireless carriers without also changing numbers, a process known as wireless Local Number Portability (LNP), helps competition in the wireless markets, and it also relieves landline customers from having to search for a new number every time they call a wireless user that has changed his or her provider. If you have questions about LNP and the landline LNP End User Charge, please call 644-4GTA
