What is the Local Improvement District (LID) ?

Local Improvement Districts (LIDs) are a means of assisting benefiting properties in financing needed capital improvements. LID’s are initiated either by a neighborhood petition or city resolution. LID’s are formed for improvements such as street, drainage, water, sewer and other community neighborhood type projects with the specially benefited properties paying for the improvements over a 10 to 15 year time period. More information can be obtained by contacting the Engineering department at 206-842-2016.
