The currency is Turkish Lira. You can get cash from ATM machines. It is not advisable to bring a large amount of Turkish Lira as you get a better rate for pounds sterling locally. It is advisable to bring Sterling Travellers cheques or cash (sterling, US dollars or Euros) to obtain a better rate of exchange.
