What is the link between the EFF, Structural Funds, Cohesion Fund and EAFRD?
The EFF no longer forms part of the “Structural and Cohesion Funds” family. The Fund budget will belong to a separate budget heading named “Preservation and management of natural resources” together with the second instrument for fisheries, the Agricultural and Rural development Fund and the environment policy budget. Yet the mechanisms for delivering assistance will remain largely inspired by those of the structural and cohesion Funds, in order to ensure consistency among Community instruments and a common approach to the rules on the sound management of Community Funds.Moreover all the Funds are inter-linked by common provisions to ensure coordination, complementarity between the different instruments and avoid double-funding.
