What is the life time of a Relative Humidity sensor?
The life time of a Relative Humidity sensor is very dependent on the environment in which it is fitted. If the sensor is installed in a “domestic” environment and connected to a GEFRAN Humidity transmitter (T220, T230…), then its life time can be higher than 10 years. One will however note a slight drift of long-term sensitivity of a few % of Relative Humidity. If the sensor in an aggressive environment (presenting acid compounds, bases or solvents), its life time can be brought back to a few months, even a few days in extremes cases. It is then necessary to add filters to protect the sensitive element.
