The LSN is a web-based information system containing documentary material relevant to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) license application for a high-level radioactive waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. All potential parties to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s licensing proceeding, including Nye County, are required to place relevant documentary material in the LSN. The NRC’s regulations for the LSN are found in Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 2, Subpart J Procedures Applicable to Proceedings for the Issuance of Licenses for the Receipt of High-Level Radioactive Waste at a Geologic Repository. The Nye County LSN document collection was certified on January 17, 2008.
