What is the Libertarian viewpoint regarding abortion?
According to the Libertarian Party platform: http://www.lp.org/platform “Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.” Which, in my opinion, is a cop-out as it sanctions infanticide right up until the moment an infant is born. But abortion is a complex issue not amenable to simplistic Five-Time Loser….er, Objectivist/Libertarian principles.
